Teo’s mom emailed me from the hospital, so excited for the arrival of their little man.
And who could blame them, he is absolutely adorable in every single way. He will no doubt be a handsome little heartbreaker when he grows up!
Being the perfect little model that he is, Teo gave us just the right mix of awake/sleepy poses. And he just kills it in blue, totally his color!

Baby Ava–Regina Newborn photography

This just in! Ava is officially the softest baby I have ever held in my whole life! I could have held her all day and been completely content. Her parents are totally smitten with her…and how could they not be! She is perfect, in every single way. The perfect blend of sugar, spice and all things nice!

Ava was so excited for her photoshoot that she was up all night the night before! She was so exhausted from practicing her poses all night that she slept almost the entire session.

My favorite by far!

Janet, your eyes are stunning! Up all night and still looking beautiful as ever.

Accordion Albums

They’re mini, they’re cute, and they pack a punch! Ladies' love them and Guy’s secretly wish they carried a purse because of them…they are mini accordion albums and have definitely proven to be a favorite among my clients.

The ones shown here are 3x3 in size and they also come in wallet size. I also love that they have a hidden magnetic closure, so your book never bounces open. Jenelle and Kelly–Saskatoon Engagement Photography

They boarded the plane. Destination: over 3000 km’s from their home in Saskatoon. Bathing suits packed, sunscreen, and hat. Ready for anything. It was there, on a hot beach in Cuba, that Kelly asked Jenelle to be his wife!

After spending the day with Jenelle and Kelly for their engagement shoot I am even more excited for their April wedding! Saskatoon, or S’toon as the cool people say, is such a beautiful city. Pair that with Jenelle and Kelly and this S’toon wedding will give awesome a run for it’s money!

Kelly, I absolutely love these first two shots of you! You look so happy…and with a cute girl kissing your cheek how could you not be!

The sun was out that day and it meant business. You know when you put on a pair of pants fresh from the dryer and the metal button touches your skin…that hot x 100. Because of this we were able to have fun with shadows.

Jenelle!! Your fierceness is outa control! You will no doubt be a gorgeous bride.

Olivia and Christy–Photography in Winnipeg

Princess Olivia is growing up so fast. So before she starts asking to borrow the car Christy wanted to capture some photos of her little princess. A little bit urban and a little bit country, Olivia rocked it out…princess style!

Like mother like daughter…Christy, you are both so beautiful!

Just checking to see if mommy’s ticklish!

Now off to our country setting. The sky could not have been more blue and shy of a tornado the winds could not have been any stronger. Heck, some people pay good money for studio fans that do the same. Nature was on our side I say!

Little miss Molly, the Golden Retriever joined us at this location. She is so well behaved and had a blast running till her little hearts content…as you can see, we had quite a bit of space!

This photo below is one of my favorites! Their outfits, the sky, the purple flowers, everything just fits together perfectly.

Not only is Christy a wonderful mother but she has an absolute gift for the written word. She is an amazing writer and keeps up an inspiration blog, The Paper Bag Princess. It is one of my regular reads and I highly recommend checking it out.

Ami and Ian–Winnipeg Wedding Photography

A modern day romance, the story of Ami and Ian began by text message. A text message between Ian and his sister Julie that is. You see, Ami worked with Julie and while Ami questioned aloud whether there were indeed any fine men left on this earth Julie interjected, “you should meet my brother”. After oogling his picture on Facebook, it was on, and the text message was sent. To Julies surprise, Ian responded.

Ian: Is it Ami with and ‘i’ or a ‘y’? i = good y = bad.

Julie: It is an ‘i’.

Ian: Does she have dark hair or blond hair? dark = good blond = bad.

Julie: She has dark hair.

Ami not only has dark hair and spells her name with an ‘i’ but she is stunningly beautiful…to the core. And comes complete with funky glasses! It was clear from the start that these two were meant to be, and like the VHS tape, the rest is history!

Ami and Ian celebrated their wedding at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. An venue that would make any bride feel like a princess. Not to mention Ami and Ian had every detail planned out perfectly. From the shoes, to the jewelry, to the snacks, to the timeline, to the best mc’s ever!

All the flowers that day were adorned with a dime. Simple, yet so meaningful. These were all lovingly placed with Ian’s grandma in mind as a way for her to share the day with them.

With Ian’s love for all things 50’s, this ride was a special treat indeed!

Ample time between the ceremony and reception allowed for not only gorgeous photos, but also a beer break at the King’s Head Pub!

Wonderful people beget wonderful people. I mean seriously, they even danced to my a cappella version of “I will Survive”.

Driving down Main St. the wind took Ami’s veil and had it’s way with it. And yes, Ami still looks crazy beautiful wrapped up in tool…but even more than that, my favorite part about this image is the way that Ian is looking at Ami. I tagged along in the front seat, and while he sat admiring his wife all he could mutter was ”WOW”!

I might be this pictures biggest fan! Not only do Ami and Ian look like cute little wedding cake toppers, but it was taken in Ami and Ian’s suite at the Fort Garry. This was the same room Queen Elizabeth stayed in during her Winnipeg visit.

Ami, you are too striking for words! You heard it a lot on your wedding day but I am going to say it again…you are beautiful!!

Ian, you looked pretty darn handsome yourself in that gorgeous suite!Ami and Ian! You two had a beautiful wedding! All your little details did not go unnoticed. The happiness in the room was palpable and I am so grateful that I was able to experience it. I have no doubt you will have many many happy years together. May you continue to “wow” each other!

Candace and Trevor – Winnipeg Wedding Photography

He knew. From the second he saw her.

Their friends tell the story of Trevor and Candace…before there was a Trevor and Candace.

Love at first sight…that’s crazy.

So when the song started to play and they danced for the first time as husband and wife the words couldn’t have been more fitting.

“Just ask him how he did it, he’ll say pull up a seat.

It’ll only take a minute to tell you everything.

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you.

Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense.

Never let your prayin’ knees get lazy…and love like crazy.”

Outside the clouds rained, the sun shined and the wind blew. None of that mattered. Because on this day Candace and Trevor were getting married. They danced, held each other close, smiled, laughed, and loved like crazy!

Candace! You are breathtaking! Gorgeous inside and out. It’s no wonder Trevor fell head over heels.

Trevor those eyes! No one can ignore the fact that you were looking pretty darn handsome yourself.

You two are simply wonderful. So who better to surround you then wonderful family and friends. I had such a great time with you all! Your wedding party was top shelf!! Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your day.

Photographers Edit, my first wedding season, and more random awesomeness!

It has been a huge year for me both in business and in life. Never in a million years would I have expected this much awesomeness in my first year of business. I owe so much to all the amazing couples who have trusted in me and helped start me on what is already an amazing journey…honestly, there are not enough kind words in all the world for you wonderful folks!

Another thing I am super thankful for is Photographers Edit. This is one thing that I incorporated into my business early and will never go without. By outsourcing my editing to Photographers Edit my clients get their images in a timely manner, I have time to shoot more weddings, grow my business, and still walk my puppies and spend time with my hubby. Craig is also busy in his job so our time together with Jersey and Diego is very precious to me!!

When shopping around for a company to outsource my editing to, for me, Photographers Edit stood out above the rest. They fit my style and the look that I go for in all my images: clean, classic, timeless. This is what drew me in, but it is their consistency and stellar customer service that keeps me coming back. Stefanie and Michael–Winnipeg Wedding Photography

As she filed through her emotions and her overnight bag, she gathered them. One at a time. Something old, something new…her hands shaking. Anyone could see it…Stefanie’s love for Michael. It’s the raw, undeniable, make your stomach do flips kind of love. It was going to be a great day.

Stefanie and Michael chose to have a First Look on their wedding day. This allowed them to spend their wedding day together leading up to their rooftop evening ceremony…and they will forever have these images to remind them.

He did the buttons up on his jacket and adjusted his cufflinks. The cufflinks, this was Stefanie’s wedding gift to Michael. He adjusts them once more. His hands were shaking.

Onwards to Winnipeg's Exchange District for some more photo goodness.

Stefanie, Stefanie, Stefanie! You are too gorgeous for words! Your classic beauty and style came together perfectly. Every little detail.

The ceremony took place on the rooftop of the Winnipeg Art Gallery and it could not have been a more perfect day for it. Stefanie and Michael each wrote a few words from the heart and spoke them during their vows. Gets me every time.

This is quite possibly my most favorite recessional image ever! Yes Michael, YOU ARE NOW MARRIED!!!!! YAY!

Followed by a cocktail reception, great appetizers, great conversation, and a great time had by all.

I hope you two had a fabulous honeymoon. It was a pleasure to be a part of your day and I have no doubt that your future together will consist of many happy years…kissing and laughing all the way.

Baby Finn–Winnipeg Newborn Photography

Weeding the garden will never be the same. That’s what mom was doing when Finn decided, three weeks early, that it was time to begin his exit strategy. Maybe he wanted to help with the weeding or maybe he really likes the outdoors…whatever the reason, I am sure his mom and dad are in for a lifetime of wonderful surprises with this little cutie pie!

We started his session indoors at grandmas house. Finn was ever curious with what we were up to which let me get some great shots of his gorgeous baby blues!

It was an absolute beautiful Wednesday afternoon and so we decided to move our session outdoors. We knew Finn wouldn’t argue, with his love for the outdoors and all! We captured some of my favorite images out there. The colors, the textures, Finn’s cuteness, and what’s more is they will always know that these images were taken at grandma and grandpa’s. I am a sucker for little touches of meaning!

Finn’s daddy loves golfing! “I am not good at, I just love it” he says. Finn might not know it yet but he already loves it just as much. He might have snuck into the pocket of Dad’s golf bag.

I had to gasp when I got to see the above image large on screen. I absolutely feel in love with it instantly. Finn, you are too precious for words.Cue adorable baby wrinkles! And………ACTION!

Thank you so much for allowing me to spend the afternoon with you three! Finn’s mom and dad, you are both so calm and kind by nature. You will be amazing parents no doubt. Finn, I could have photographed you all day! You are one handsome little fella.

AMANDA AND PHIL–Regina Wedding Photography

Phil finds Amanda most beautiful lounging in her sweats, t-shirt on, no makeup. But today was different. Today was special. Amanda got her hair done, her makeup applied, and her best friends in the world helped her step into the most simply elegant dress. Amanda looked beautiful. There was no denying it. Amanda had her hair done at Indira. I have to say I might have fallen in love with her hair stylist. April did a great job and she was so fun and full of energy…much like Amanda!

Krista at Blush Beauty Bar did not disappoint! She really is amazing at what she does, listens to what the client wants, and delivers! Not to mention the shop itself is worth checking out.

Phil and Amanda opted for a First Look on their wedding day which I love! It sets the pace for a nice relaxing day, you get to see more of each other, and allows me to capture moments like these:

I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a few tears here…but blinked a couple of times a got on with the photos because with Phil and Amanda, the gorgeousness never stops!

Amanda, you rocked those Badgley Mischka’s!

So, so, so beautiful Amanda! You honestly reminded me of a greek goddess. Simply elegant.

Phil, I cannot believe you when you say you do not like being photographed. For shame! Seriously, Wascana Park just got hotter.

Amanda’s family flew in from England. They wouldn’t have missed this day for the world. Oscar, you were a smashing DJ.

Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the The Willow on Wascana.

If every wedding I ever shot was held here I would not be complaining. Their staff is top notch, the service superb, and food so delish – there are no words.

Amanda and Phil were so thankful to have all their closest family and friends under the same tent. Anyone could see how much love they have for this group of people.

On a day that called for Thundershowers, brighter skies prevailed. For this everyone was thankful. And as the moon was establishing it’s place in the Regina sky, we stepped out onto the pier and captured the following…

You two really know how to throw a party! Amanda and Phil, I had a wonderful time photographing your wedding and feel that we are closer friends now more than ever. You both have wonderful families and I left appreciating mine more. Thank you a million times over!

Courtney and Jason {Engaged} - Regina Engagement Photography

You learn something new everyday. On that particular day, Jason learnt that the Green M&M is a girl. Clearly he didn’t know this when he decided to dress as the Green M&M for Halloween. He redeemed himself however with his mad color coordinating skills…his costume matched his Rough Rider helmet, which he also wore to the party…the party where he met his future wife.

Neither of them were going to go to the party that night…but fate had other plans. And so their love story began…in a green M&M costume.

No explination required!

Gorgeous Courtney, simply gorgeous. Between your glowing personality, charming smile, and killer hair...Jason didn't stand a chance.

I am really looking forward to your October wedding! You guys are so much fun your day is bound to be full of smiles!

Amanda and Phil–{engaged}–Regina Wedding Photography

Their applications were accepted…1 year apart mind you. Regardless, neither of them thought getting accepted into a program that would arm them with a successful career would also be the place they met the person they would later marry. She first saw him at his locker…looking all scholarly and cute. The rest is history.

Phil and Amanda’s wedding is this Sunday…and a gorgeous one it will be. An outdoor wedding complete with Macarons! Macarons? Yes, you read right.

As a prelude to the wedding we captured their engagement photos in and around the Wedding Venue. It was my first time to The Willow on Wascana and with Phil and Amanda being the foodies they are I should have expected no less. What a gorgeous venue with a menu to die for. They also inspired me to change up how my engagement shoots usually play out. This session was complete with and appetizer and beer break…ok, well only Phil had a beer but Amanda and I’s Iced Teas were equally has delish I am sure.

Phil and Amanda, Thank you for being so much fun…and knowing how to rock an air guitar!

The sun was really working in our favor that day. Me and mother nature, we’re pretty tight.

Amanda’s ring is gorgeous. Phil says it matches her beautiful green eyes. And in case that wasn’t enough for you to think “this Phil, he is a keeper”…here’s what Phil made for dinner the other night:

Brined Whole Chicken: Finished with a Herb Rub over a Charcoal BBQ, with Stuffed Red Peppers and BBQ asparagus.

Those are Phil’s words. I don’t know what brined means.

Amanda, you are a gorgeous little ball full of energy! You are going to be a stunning bride. Phil is one lucky guy to have such a beautiful, thoughtful, (and who can forget) fun person like you in his life. You will surely keep him smiling for years to come!

Yes, when you stop for an appetizer break during a shoot you land a gorgeous sunset on the way back to the car. Thanks for trusting me and for being up for absolutely ANYTHING! Sunday can’t come soon enough!

Melanie and James–Winnipeg Wedding Photography

She was done with bad boyfriends so she made a list. A perfect boyfriend list. Cue James, with his cool personality, gorgeous smile, and romantic ways. Their love story begins long before the proposal…but when Melanie told me about the Vancouver proposal that James orchestrated…my heart just melted. He proposed to Melanie on their trip to Vancouver. Where in Vancouver? The same place that his grandfather had proposed to his grandmother. He even arranged to have it photographed. I said it at their engagement session and I’ll say it again…James is a keeper!

When Melanie, James and I first met last year I just knew their wedding day was going to be one for books. Not only is Melanie’s style top notch, but they are both so relaxed and easy going. It is so refreshing. It’s because of all these qualities combined that every little detail came together perfectly.

What you see on the top of James’ band is his brides thumb print. Absolutely gorgeous.
Melanie and James opted for a First Look which set the pace for a relaxed and wonderfully beautiful day. Not to mention a gorgeous moment for them to just enjoy each other and quietly reflect on all things love!
Melanie could barely contain herself!!!

James, I have never seen a smile SO big!
Melanie, you are breath taking. Beautiful inside and out! It is no wonder James threw his arms around you and wouldn’t let go.

They travelled in style…vintage style, in this Heritage Transit bus. We stopped in the Exchange District for some photos and some lunch!
The ladies looked smashing…
…and the gentlemen looked pretty smart themselves!
The ladies were a tad chilly. This is how we kept warm!
As the afternoon sun from the skylights above warmed the room, Melanie and James exchanged their vows. They signed their registry with their grandparents pen. And they made an entrance into a reception that was straight out of every little girl’s dream.

Mr. and Mrs. Richardson! Words cannot describe how lovely you both are. To the core. Your kindness, love, and generosity are unmatched. Vicky and I were absolutely honored to be a little part of your day! I wish you many wonderful times ahead. Starting with your honeymoon in Greece! We will have to do coffee next time I am in Winnipeg! I have a fancy new mug I can bring (thanks Melanie).

Regina Newborn Photography - Baby emerson

This story starts way back to when I first moved to Regina! My friend Laura passed me a business card “here you go, I saw this and thought of you”. I eyed up this gorgeous business card and thanked Laura for being such an awesome friend. “This is great, Craig and I are looking for a landscape designer”. “No, no – the style of business card” Laura corrected me, “it’s perfect for you!” I had to agree, it was pretty gorgeous and just my style.
I called Alicia from Thrive Design and it wasn’t long before Craig and I had a complete landscape design on our kitchen table. Not just any design, the Mac Daddy of designs. Alicia’s work is top notch. She was so super helpful throughout the process and Craig and I couldn’t be happier!
Randomly enough, later that week I receive a phone call from Debra in BC inquiring about newborn sessions. She had came across my website and contacted me to gift a newborn session to her brother and sister-in-law who live in Regina and were expecting their first baby any day now. We chatted on the phone and it wasn’t long before we had worked out the details. I offered to mail the gift certificate for her. It’s a good thing I was wearing two pairs of socks (I am always cold) because when I saw that her sister-in-law was Alicia, my landscape designer, it knocked one pair right off my feet! “It’s a small world”…we say this often, almost cliché like…but my gosh the older I get the more this rings true.
So today, on a day where the sky didn’t know if was going to rain or shine, I met baby Emerson! Cuteness just oozes out of his every little baby wrinkle!!

If I had to give a title to this shoot, it would be “Never let me go”. We were all very patient, waiting for Emerson to catch a few zzzzzz’s, but he had other plans. He wanted to be cradled, snuggled, rocked, nuzzled…I think him and Diego would get along great! It only took two seconds of not being held before Emerson quickly reminded us who was boss. That is all it takes though, a few seconds, to capture cuteness like this…

Sleep is irrelevant. We captured a session that will remind mom and dad for years to come what Emerson was all about when he was bitty. Mom and Dad. It is quite clear that Emerson loves his mommy and daddy just as much as they love him and no amount of snuggles could ever be enough. When you have great parents like Alicia and Derek, who could blame him!

Emerson! You might officially be the cutest thing since sliced bread. In fashion they would say, “Emerson is the new black”! It was so nice spending the day with you three. Alicia, it was great to chat and get to know you better and meet your hubby Derek…who is a keeper I must say. Not any guy would sit through a very warm newborn session, in jeans and a long sleeve top, still smiling at the end with enough energy afterwards to play with the puppies. You guys look so happy. The perfect little family!

It reminded me of when I was 6 years old. I was invited to a birthday party and needless to say I was going to bring a gift. My mom came home from work one day and showed me the gift she had bought for the party. My eyes widened, there might have even been a little drool starting to form in the corner of my mouth, and I am pretty sure that if I had been near a mirror I could have witnessed myself turn a brilliant shade of green. Ohhhh the jewelry I could have made with all those beads, the different clasps, short, long, layered…the options were endless. Did I REALLY have to give this away? When I got dropped off at my friends house the day of the party my mind raced. I wanted run, run away with all those lovely beads and never return. I could play and make jewelry and live off the sheer fun I would have with what had to have been the best birthday gift on earth.

I didn’t. Run that is. I went to the party and gave my gift. Though I was barely able to let it go, I have to admit, the excitement she oozed over my gift was a pretty good feeling!!

That is how I feel about my clients session albums. I love them so much I sometimes have a hard time letting them go. But the reactions I get when clients receive them…it is no doubt the best gift of all. I far supersedes keeping the album (and maybe snuggling it at night…ok, ok, I kid about the snuggling part…but they definitely get ooogled).

I am not shy in announcing that albums are one of my favorite things! Once again I was caught ooogling the client albums I received in the mail recently. Before I delivered them to my lovely clients I might have been guilty of photographing them…a lot…so I thought I would share some of the photos with you!

This album here is 8x8 in size!

The craftsmanship is outstanding! The hinged pages…well, lets just say I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Why you ask? I think this full spread layout says it all. Hinged pages lay flat when open to maximize the image sizes used in the design. As well it provides a thicker, more upscale page.

All session albums are custom designed around your images. It is kept clean and simple to let the true awesomeness of your images shine through!

Gray floral fabric not your thing…choose from a selection of 15 leather and 18 fabric options. I’ve had a hard time picking a favorite. Which is great really, that means you can’t go wrong regardless of which cover you choose.

Regina newborn Photography–Baby Morgan

I still remember the day she told me “Chad and I are expecting”. When she said “we found out it’s a girl”. When Chad emailed to tell us “our baby girl’s name is Morgan and mom and baby are doing great”. And I’ll never forget when Morgan and I met for the first time. She looked a lot different compared to when I saw her last…snuggly in moms belly. And now, here she is, perfect in everyway…a bundle of cuteness. Her ultrasound picture didn’t do her justice! Morgan is just beautiful…and no wonder since her mom and dad are pretty darn cute too!

Morgan was the perfect little model. Her expressions were priceless. Her little lips…too precious. She was simply angelic.

Believe it or not, we did not have any pee pee accidents during this shoot. This might be a first. Morgan was sporting the latest in baby attire and could rock a diaper like no else!

Laura and Chad, you are simply wonderful parents. I hope that when I am a mom I can channel some of your cool, calm nature. Honestly, you guys have this parenting business so down pat that you could probably soothe me out of one of my hangry fits…without using food! Lucas and Morgan are very lucky to have you both.

Snuggly D is one of them.

Really, we are lucky our Diego responds to anything. But when it’s time for our fort on the floor we need not call any name. He loves to snuggle. Me and D are to snuggling like PB is to J, they just go together.

I mean come on! Look at him all cozy in the covers and tell me you don’t want to snuggle with us! Pop in a movie, grab some popcorn and a bevy…guaranteed your toes will never be cold.

Maca-licious–Part Deux

Internet, I can barely keep myself away. If I listen carefully, I can still hear the scones calling my name. So I didn’t have to think too hard when deciding what treat to pick up for my lunch date tomorrow. Once again Le Macaron did not disappoint. I selected a few macarons, a biscotti, and some truffles to go…complete with fancy packaging. And as we all know, I am a sucker for fancy packaging!

Yes, they do taste as good as they look and yes, you should be jealous! Just know that when you pay me a visit you can count on me taking you out for coffee and a macaron! To get your palate racing, you can ‘like’ their Facebook page and peruse the desert selections. See you all soon!!

Le Maca-licious and an August Wedding!

The variety left me standing at the counter…undecided. “You can go ahead of me I am still undecided” left my lips more than once. The colors of the pastries on display were so pleasing to the eye that I almost didn’t want to eat them…almost. Strawberry Banana, Olive Oil Vanilla, Pistachio…could I possibly try them all?

I met a fabulous couple today, Amanda and Phil, at Le Macaron to discuss their August wedding. It was my first time in the new Regina Café and I must say I was impressed. The bride and groom arrived while I still stood at the counter pondering my order. It didn’t take long before Amanda and I decided that we MUST have a macaron with our coffee. The scones were also taunting us from the sidelines with their gorgeous cranberries calling our names! The fact that they were fresh from the oven was not helping my will power. I winked at the scone (with both eyes…everyone knows I can’t ‘really’ wink) and whispered to him “I’ll be back for you later”. He agreed to wait for me! When Amanda and Phil didn’t even flash one single ounce of a “who is this crazy lady talking to her food” look, I knew that we were going to get along just fine! I am really looking forward to their wedding in August. I smile just thinking about it!

If you live in the Regina area and would like to get your hands on the most delicious, melt in your mouth macarons known to man, you can find Le Macaron at 2705 East Quance St. I have decided that their slogan should be – Le Macaron: more than just a macaron! I would have taken my camera indoors to give you a glimpse of all the lovely treats but an interview was being done with the Chef when I arrived and I think my camera would have made for one too many in the room at the time. If you were thinking that my second last sentence was a total run-on sentence, it was, because that’s how I roll…and Amanda and Phil are ok with that!!

Brooklynn’s Bistro and Boa Lounge

She walked in wearing a crinoline skirt, leggings, and a stylish long sleeve top. A massive amount of personality and pizzazz ready to burst through a little wall of shyness. She grabbed her heels and her Louis Vuitton bag, sat down, and put on her lip gloss. Brooklynn is only 3 years old and she already owns her own restaurant. Ok, well her mom and dad – Franca and Sam – own the Restaurant…the bag and the heels might be moms too.

I was absolutely honored when Franca contacted me to take photos of Brooklynn for their new Restaurant in Winnipeg’s Exchange District - Brooklynn’s Bistro. Named after their daughter, these photos are a lovely addition to the Restaurant’s modern contemporary décor.

Here’s a fraction of the cuteness we captured!

I just love love love this chandelier. It can be spotted in the Restaurants counter part…The Boa Lounge!

If you are looking for a new downtown lunch spot or want to try something new for dinner, be sure to head on out to Brooklynn’s Bistro. It really is the place to ‘B’! Walk in the impressive front doors and whether you turn left into the Boa Lounge or turn right into the Bistro, the fine dining and the fine company will not disappoint. Located on the main floor in the historic building at 177 Lombard Ave they without a doubt have a great location and with Darryl Crumb as Chef…WHAT? You don’t know who Darryl Crumb is? Well you should! You can see him cook up a storm on Top Chef Canada starting April 11th on the Food Network…or you could just head on down to 177 Lombard! They have had nothing but great reviews: R:ED, Food Musings and ">UrbanSpoon to list a few.

A big Congratulations and Thanks to Brooklynn and her family for welcoming me into their Restaurant in the early stages and asking me to capture these images! It was a pleasure! Anytime you want to sing some Usher songs or dance to Black Eyed Peas…you know my number. I may have to call on Brooklynn to teach me the lyrics!!

Quinn and Justin–Destination Wedding Photography, Mexico

Only a few select people can say they woke up the morning of their wedding and lounged by the pool. Quinn and Justin can. There are no words to describe how beautifully the day unfolded. I have never seen a Bride more relaxed and carefree on her wedding day as Quinn. She had planned all the details…perfectly…oh, and transported them all to Mexico! Unscathed. Every last one of them. Right down to the brushes to brush the sand off your feet when you go to put your shoes back on after the waterfront ceremony. Ahhhh, don’t you feel more relaxed already.

One of my favorite images. Four generations of weddings bands: Quinn’s, Quinn’s mom, her grandmother’s, and her great grandmother’s wedding bands. WOW. I love this so much! I am just a sucker for sappy!!

Quinn, you look radiant everyday, so as a gorgeous bride there are no words! Justin is one very lucky man to have found and married such a beautiful person inside and out!

The ceremony was, well, sweaty hot for anyone who may have been lucky enough to be there in person…but just right for a Huatulco Wedding! Deoderant, you didn’t stand a chance! We also found out some juicy secret info about Justin during the ceremony. Who knew that he was actually a 20 year old female? It’s ok Justin, your secret is safe with us!!

If there was one thing that could have made this wedding better it would have been more time in a day! I think everyone would agree that it passed by way too quickly. Much fun was had by all!

So, same place next year for Matt and Shannon’s wedding (wink wink)! They did catch the garter and bouquet after all…

Quinn and Justin…I can not thank you and both of your families enough! You all welcomed me into your wedding week with open arms. I feel like I have gained two families of my own. I don’t think I have ever met a more fun, loving, easy to get along group of people ever in my life. I just love when clients become friends…and I feel like I have gained quite a few here. I can’t even count the number of times that Quinn’s mom nearly had me in tears! You have to separate the two of us (tee hee). Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Regina Newborn Photography–Peyton

Does life get any better than this? Look past the late night feedings…x2, x3, x4. Past the poopy diapers, the crying... We all do it, whether its with our jobs, our families, our pets…fear, stress, and sleep deprivation do crazy things to us. Where you would give anything to sleep for just 5 more minutes. But when you filter through all the gunk that clouds our vision of good in the world and let your eyes open wide…you get to see all the beautiful there is…meet Peyton!

I just find all of Peyton’s images so incredibly precious. But I particularly like the ones where is alert and ready to take over the world! She is already so full of spunk…I think she gets that from her Mommy who is always on the go!

Peyton’s Mommy and Daddy are two of the kindest, most generous, people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Oh, and they are pretty cute too!! Go figure Peyton is breaking hearts already with her big gorgeous eyes and wicked awesome hair! Not everyone can pull off that do, but Peyton does it with style!

So, to all you hard working folk out there, next time you find yourself bogged down by due dates and stress and the lack of sleep is making you see funny…remember to look for the good, look for the beautiful! Melissa said it best…when I asked her how her and Keri were managing to get enough sleep being new parents and all… she said “yeah sure we are tired…but we just love her and everything else just works out.” I also think there was a “…good thing she is so cute” comment in there somewhere (tee hee).

You both are amazing parents! Peyton is one lucky little girl! I am so happy for you both and it was lovely seeing the three of you together. Your own little family!

Quinn and Justin - Mexico Wedding

It was a cooler week in Hualtuco Mexico for the week of Quinn and Justins wedding. Sometimes in life you must just deal with the cards you are delt and in this case, dealing with chilly 40+ temperatures was what we did...gladly! Who knew that there were places in the world that considered 40+ "cooler".

My flight landed only a couple of hours ago and I just had to post a few teaser photos of such a wonderful week! Both their families and friends are so wonderful I left feeling like a part of them...a cousin lets say :) Thanks to you all for having me...many more photos to come!

2011, although still early, has been quite a busy and exciting year for me…we moved to Saskatchewan, I am working on launching my new website (which is going to be phat with a P. H.), shooting in both Regina and Winnipeg, numerous shoots that I am anxious to share, designed and ordered new business cards, and new products! One of which are these DVD/CD cases that my lovely wedding couples will receive their disks in! I couldn’t be happier and had to share a couple of photos with you all!

Baby Keuler–Regina maternity

Well, I am officially in full swing out in our new Regina digs…and thanks to the Keuler family for keeping the ball rolling! This was a super fun maternity shoot that I could have kept at all day. I didn’t expect any less since I know for a fact that Laura and Chad are super duper fun, great sports, and always up for anything! These great traits will come in handy very soon when they have not one…but two little ones to keep them on their toes! Their little girl is expected to join the family before the end of February!!

Little Mr. Lucas LOVES to read!! Lately he has been educating himself on what life will be like when his little sister joins them…poopy diapers and all!!

Lucas was so darn cute during the shoot. He really took a liking to my puppies. The puppies kept him giggling almost the whole time…oh, and treats too of course…treats always help!

One of Laura’s favorites…and mine too!

While Lucas entertained the puppies, Laura worked her magic. She said with her and Chad trying to make it out the door in time with ‘two’ babies in tow she really didn’t feel like she had time to make herself feel beautiful. Well, in case you had your eyes closed for the first few pictures…Laura is gorgeous! Really, Laura you are beautiful…and your eyes here….stunning!!

Couscous salad anyone? YES PLEASE!! When I asked Laura if she had any cravings with this pregnancy she quickly answered “couscous salad”. She made a large bowl of it and brought it down for the shoot…I don’t need to tell you what we had as a post-shoot snack! Not only does it look amazing in pictures but man o man was it tasty. I am putting feta in my couscous salad from now on!

The bright colors they wore in these next photos were outstanding! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Laura and Chad, I will be leaving for Mexico when your little girl is born. I will be SO anxious to meet her when I get back. I know visitors will probably be flooding in … but I will bring lasagna and chili…does that move me to the top of the visitors list?! Tee hee, I kid I kid. Big hugs and well wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy delivery! Thanks so much for coming out to White City…the puppies miss Lucas already.

Bronwyn and Dennis–Winnipeg Engagement Photography

The sun was scorching down. Beads of sweat beginning to form on your forehead while everyone walks the beach in their speedos and bikinis…oh wait – no, not for these engagement photos. It is Winnipeg in January after all. However Bronwyn and Dennis will be singing a sunnier tune when they get married on the beach in Cuba, December 7th of this year.

“It will totally be worth it”
That’s what I tell all my couples about outdoor portraits in the winter. But this day was bitter cold…like choke on the air can’t even catch a second breath cold! We had hot packs in our boots, in our mitts, and we joked about tucking them in our pants because the first thing to go numb were our thighs. I tell you all this because looking at their photos you would never know just how cold it was out there. The way Dennis looks at Bronwyn… –45 doesn’t stand a chance!

Give me Blue steel”. This action is a win-win. If Dennis would have had no idea what I was talking about I get an awesome reaction with natural laughter. Since Dennis knew EXACTLY what I was talking about I got both!!

Without hesitation Dennis turns his head to the side, whips around, and gives me the most fierce Blue steel EVA! I will save the full frame Blue Steel for the disk!

As promised…the laughter afterwards (this may have been sparked by my high kick and squeal at Dennis’ fierce blue steel)!

Winnipeg Newborn Photography–Baby Mattox

I sit editing this session, listening to music, when I found myself chocking back the lump in my throat.

“It’s only half past the point of no return

The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn

The thunder before the lighting, the breath before the phrase

Have you ever felt this way?”

I almost hadn’t noticed but those lyrics stirred up a combination of emotions for which there are no words. To say these two are good friends of mine simply just won’t do…they are family! Shauna, Chico and their families have been through some difficult times these past few years. Still, they smile at strangers, laugh at funny jokes, see the beauty in the world, and love like there’s no tomorrow! The love and strength these two have should be bottled and sold! We need more Shauna and Chico’s in this world. And now there is…there is little Mr. Mattox, who is a part of a family so great, full of so much love…again I can’t finish my sentence. I am so happy for them, no – overjoyed, that I stared blankly at the screen for an hour before writing. When words escape me pictures do the the talking…Mattox got his hair color from his mommy!

These next two photos are two of my favorites. They represent their entire family, showing mom and dads memorial tattoos…a picture of Mattox and his ‘big’ brother who is sending extra love from heaven.

Three servings of lunch, three poopy diapers, and a pee pee accident later Mattox was exhausted and gave us the following abundance of cuteness…It must be exhausting being so darn cute huh?!?

Shauna, you are breathtaking!! There is something so angelic about this photo…I just love it. Yes, you can see the reflection of my studio in the window but that is part of what I love, because the snuggly emotion concurs all of that!

I was honored you asked me to capture these photos for you. Mattox is so snuggly, perfect in every way! There are no words to say exactly how much happiness I wish for you guys…but I am fairly certain you know how I feel…even without words.

Winnipeg Engagement–Waleska and Calum

Waleska LOVES the Eiffel Tower. In fact, she loves everything Paris! What a better place for Calum to propose then the top of the Eiffel Tower in Vegas. The smiles on their faces when they talk about that moment are priceless…both lost in the love of it.

I can’t say enough good things about winter portrait sessions…especially on a day like yesterday! The temp was mild, the snow was falling. Too much pretty for words!!

We walked the Exchange and besides a few stops for some nose blowing we didn’t stop for anything (not even to warm up). The old architecture made for the perfect Parisian feel…minus the long flight.

Waleska’s ring is simply devine and looked beautiful resting on the Eiffel Tower she brought along! This might end up being their cake topper…washed first of course!

One of my fav’s from the session! Waleska, you are gorgeous!

We made our way over to the Leg which was a nice break from the snow…but we couldn’t go inside before having a snowball fight!! I ended up with the most snow on me as I lost my fight with a flower bed. Trip right over it to solidify my place in fools-dom. I always remind my clients to ‘bring it’ to each and every session and that me and camera are totally not judging them…if anyone is going to make a fool of themselves ‘tis I! Thankfully there are no pictures of me…and Waleska and Calum look way cute covered in snow!

It looks like Cal is winning this snowball fight but Waleska gets the last word! Need I say more.

Winter wonderland!

There is a breaking point…where you can’t feel your fingers and your toes begin to tingle. Your nose starts to run and your warm breath against your scarf causes your eyelashes to temporarily freeze to the fluffs on it with every blink. The sound of sniffles fill the air because just the thought of having to relax your cold clenched muscles and remove a mitten to wipe your nose terrifies you. Thighs get weak from the tension and yet no matter how hard you tighten every muscle in your body you still aren’t anywhere near warming up. Everything is telling your brain to run, run from the cold seeking warmth and shelter from the wind. Or, you can chose to just hang in there a little longer. We did. We chose to hang in there a little longer. Past the breaking point you can appreciate this Winter Wonderland and all it’s beauty.

What happens after that? Well to be honest, everything just goes numb so you no longer feel the pain the cold brings and your brain is now too frozen to process any further thoughts…that’s when you get the great images!

Jessa and Andrew were Superstars (Rippy and Tucker too)! I am pretty sure it should be illegal to sit on a bench that cold…but they did it…and smiled!

Here, Jessa and Andrew’s lips are actually frozen together! I kid, I kid!!

Californian Silhouette–I Heart Faces

Newport Beach California=Awesomeness!

This past May I took a little vacay to Sunny California! On my last evening there, I wanted to take a little time to myself and soak up every moment, every sound, every smell. My hotel being right on the ocean I spent the evening on the beach: jeans rolled up to my knees, jacket zipped up, scarf around my neck, you know…my regular beach attire!

As I watched the waves roll in gently against the shore I experimented with my camera. White balance changes against the water, slow shutter, fast shutter, dog and tennis ball….opps what was that? It was Coco, a beautiful Chocolate lab, and she was playing fetch on the beach with her owners, one of whom was out in the water surfing (yes, surfing…that word is somewhat of a rarity here in Manitoba). I was really missing my puppies and couldn’t resist asking if I could pet Coco. Her owners and I chatted for awhile. The sun was setting and they were getting ready to head home. As their son made his way in from the water with his surf board and flippers they asked if I would take their photo. And so was born this silhouette…along with a few other group shots and Coco shots of course, that I will post at a later date.

So California is not only made of amazing sights, gorgeous beaches, and year round great weather…but it is made of the most fabulous people! I will never forget this family for the great chat and the Coco time…that I was so missing with my puppies.

Winnipeg Newborn Photography - Baby D

Robbie was my first real boyfriend. Makes me chuckle just writing it! In elementary school this is a big deal. Most times though you grow apart, go your separate ways, and only remember each other in a passing grade school memory. Yes, we grew up...but always friends. Actually, Craig picked me up for what I guess you could call our "first official date night" to go hang out at a bonfire at Robbie's parents house! And now, here I was photographing his son! It brought a little tear to my eye seeing his little boy...he is just beautiful...I will call him Bitty Bobbie!This was my first time meeting Rob's two lovely ladies. It was a pleasure!

Heather you are beautiful! I can't believe these photos were taken 5 days after Bitty Bobbie was born. You look stunning!

Maternity Photography - Cheri waite

Holy hawt stuff! I second shot Cheri and Ben's wedding last August and she made a stunning bride. She contacted me recently to capture some more photos of her...this time with a baby bump!!! I thought she was a gorgeous bride and she is equally, if not more beautiful as an expecting mother!!

I brought her to one of my most favorite places in Lorette...I told Cheri "It's very private, no one will ever drive by and honk at us for example, and at this time of year there are no bugs"... after this shoot I can no longer open with that descriptor: Within moments of our shoot Cheri had accumulated three car honks at least. Her gorgeousness could be seen for miles!! After honk number four I kept apologizing as we laughed, "I swear this NEVER happens. No one ever honks!" It must have been the 'glow'!

Well a short while after the honks, we nearly peed our pants when a truck, YES A TRUCK, drove right by us. We didn't hear it until it was directly beside us!! You might be thinking "well what in the WORLD were you doing shooting on the road. WE WEREN'T! We were in a field, with no road, in flat Manitoba, where you can see your dog run away for days, and we didn't see a truck coming until it was right beside us! I still don't know exactly where it came from?!? They drove by smiling like little school boys and waved. I am also pretty sure I spotted some drool as they got a glimpse of Cheri! "I swear this is usually very private" ... we laughed a little more! Thumbs up little one! Thumbs up indeed! Cheri rocked the most amazing pair of black moccasins! They were simply divine! Hard to spot in these particular pictures but you will just have to trust me! You would totally be jealous of them.

The sun was setting and the light was most beautiful. The air was crisp, no bugs in the air, just silence and pure beauty...oh and mice, don't forget about the mice! Cheri spotted a mouse run by her feet through the grass as we made our way to the top of the hill. I took dinosaur leaps the rest of the way, jaw clenched, quietly repeating "oh my gosh, oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH." Ok, well it was quiet in my head anyways. Only moments before both Cheri and I were LAYING in that same grass!! Eeeeeek. When we got back and told our husbands the story they both said "well what did you think...tall grass...it's Fall..." Truth is I don't think about that stuff when I am shooting, just like the grasshopper, what I don't know is there can't hurt me...right?

We got this lovely photo before we left. Well worth it I think!

Pregnancy is such a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL thing and Cheri you 'wear' it well! I was so honored to be able to capture these moments for you. Thanks for the fun times! I will never see my favorite Lorette locale the same way ever again ;) At least the no bugs part held true!

Manitoba Family Photography - The Davis Family

I received an email from Michelle! She was given my name from someone she knows, she took a peek at my website, and took the time to write me! We had a discussion and a date was set. We forever have the following images as a result...of one little email!!

Our shoot took place in Niverville MB, the Davis Family stomping grounds! I met them for the first time that day when I knocked on their door. Michelle and her husband Trevor had not had family pictures taken since before their youngest was born...and now she's 4. Although their lab puppy Ace didn't join us for the shoot he still got some pets before we headed out...I cannot see a puppy and not rub him behind the ear at least once (ok, a billion times)!!

These five were game for everything and anything and because of that we were able to take advantage of some gorgeous light while having a ton of fun capturing their families awesome personality!

It was on our way up this hill that I had momentarily forgotten that I was with some fabulous clients that I had met literally 15 minutes ago...I saw a grasshopper and screamed at the top of my lungs. I was honestly petrified! Nearly peed my pants. Yes, I live in the country. Yes, I dislike bugs. It's true. But it's not something I think about while I am taking pictures, spiders, bugs, mice...I just don't. I get wrapped up in the moment and the creative thoughts running through my head...if I SEE them that's another story. Thankfully the Davis family is so darn nice they just laughed with me (or at me, I am ok with that too) totally not judging me. I caught my breath and recomposed myself. Darn grasshoppers. Jumping all out of control in unpredictable directions with their buggy eyes and sticky legs...anywho, back to the images. I love how the following group of photos shows each unique personality!

I appreciate you guys allowing me the time to get to know you all and capture the fun that is your family!!! I had a great time! I still laugh when I think about what Michelle and I's faces must have looked like when Trevor told us he saw a mouse run by!

Engagement Photography - Candace and Trevor (and Buddy!)

It all started 3 years ago...the proposal that is! It was special, that spot on the beach, in many ways. And that day it was made even more special when Trevor got down on one knee with a purple box in hand. He asked Candace to spend the rest of her life with him.

...and this is what was in that purple box! Beautiful!

One of Trevor's favorite things about Candace is her smile...need I say more.

Candace and Trevor describe their personality as a couple to be outgoing, fun, strong, and loyal! I would have to agree, as ALL of those things shine through in their photos!!

Candace you are too beautiful!! ...oh and in case you are from another planet and hadn't noticed, Trevor is pretty darn handsome himself ;)

As if Candace and Trevor weren't enough cuteness...cue Buddy! We shot this session at Kilcona Park. This is a gorgeous park that has an off-leash dog area that Candace, Trevor, and Buddy frequent. Buddy was in heaven. These were his stomping grounds. There were sticks galore, room to run, and tons of attention to go around.

The sun continued to set, the light only got better, and we continued to capture more gorgeous! Candace and I hit it off right away! When we first met for coffee we chatted for so long that Trevor called asking where she was. He needed the car to get to hockey! Tee hee! But I just couldn't get enough of their love story! I could have listened all day! I really appreciate their long engagement and the way they took the time to enjoy each other as 'fiancés'. And now, here they are 3 years later rockin' out their engagement session and planning a wedding!

I had so much fun with you guys! Thanks for the laughs and the good times! Oh, and Trevor...you can look over here now ;)
